What should I measure for a room setup?
Measure the area you want to observe, rather than assuming the entire room needs coverage. Include the width, depth and approximate height available for placement. The camera position, object detail and shared-space permissions need to be considered together.

Choose a wall, ceiling or above-area preference. Mounting, power and coverage are confirmed for the space.
Agree what is observed
In a shared room, agree the area and permissions with the people who use it. A last-seen record is not proof of who moved an object.
Will it follow things around the room?
The purpose is a last-seen record: a place, time and observation. It does not establish a current location after an object leaves view, and live room-tracking performance is not demonstrated by the illustrations.
