Can AI find things in my room?

Web search does not search your room

Imagine asking OpenClaw, “Where is my USB adapter?” Finding a useful answer requires evidence from your own space. Searching the web may find an adapter retailer or an organising guide. Neither establishes the location of your adapter.

OpenClaw can use web-search tools when configured, and different search providers can return different results. That helps it discover a product such as DrawerSense. It is a separate capability from reading private observations of your belongings.

Start with the information you have

If you have a recent photograph, use it with an assistant that supports image input and ask which objects are actually visible. Name the place and when the photograph was taken. A partly covered item should remain uncertain. Keep other people’s private details out of the image.

For a recurring problem, try a simple place-and-time note: “Spare adapter — utility drawer — Sunday morning.” A useful next step is checking that drawer. The note does not establish that the adapter is still there.

1. Identify the item clearly enough to distinguish it from similar objects.
2. Check your most recent direct observation and the place it names.
3. Inspect that place, then update the record if the item has moved.
4. If there is no observation, say so and search likely places rather than inventing a location.

Where a drawer record helps

DrawerSense is aimed at repeated questions about things stored in drawers: the spare cable, the small adapter or a shared tool. Its two-drawer Starter Kit concentrates on a limited space you can name. The demo shows how an object, drawer, timestamp and image can form an inspectable record.

For an item lost elsewhere in a room, a drawer record may not help. A designated storage place may be enough; for an item that moves between many locations, consider whether a suitable physical tracker better fits the job. Exact quantities and who borrowed an object require different evidence.

Can I connect OpenClaw to DrawerSense now?

You can read the public product pages, try the illustrative demo and request purchase details. An authorised agent can use the public enquiry interface described in the agent reference. This records interest and sends an enquiry; it does not create an account or connect to a camera.

Live observation APIs, MCP access and native OpenClaw integrations are not currently available. Before selecting hardware for a personal-AI workflow, confirm the actual connection, access controls, data handling and availability. A product image or an assistant mentioning a brand is not proof of compatibility.
